The P-3 visa enables artists and entertainers to come to the United States—individually or as part of a group—to develop, interpret, represent, coach, or teach a performance or presentation that is culturally unique.


🎶 What Is Considered “Culturally Unique”?

A culturally unique program may involve traditional:

  • Music

  • Dance

  • Theater

  • Storytelling

  • Ethnic or folk arts

Your art form must be rooted in the traditions of your country or culture, and you must demonstrate its authenticity and relevance.


📋 Application Requirements

  • A U.S. employer or sponsoring organization must file Form I-129 with USCIS.

  • Submit:

    • Evidence that the event or performance is culturally unique.

    • Proof of the performer’s qualifications and reputation.

    • Letters from recognized cultural organizations or experts.

    • Written advisory opinion from a relevant labor organization.


⏳ Visa Duration

  • Initial stay up to 1 year, extended as needed in 1-year increments for the same event.

  • May include time to perform, rehearse, or tour.
